The Kids Fire Safety program was presented at Rattan and Moyers Public Schools this week, teaching students fire safety at home.

Elementary students went through a 34 foot mobile trailer that was set up much like their own homes, they were taught about fire hazards in each area. The students also got to escape out a bedroom window and climb down a ladder in the midst of simulated smoke.

David Turner, the Kids SAfety Fire Prevention coordinator for Oklahoma Farm Bureau, travels all over the state teaching fire prevention to students. Mr. Turner said that the membership dues paid from members of Farm Bureau are what supports this program.
