Fred McCarty

Fred Gabe McCarty, of Lane, was born on Wednesday, August 26, 1959, to Coy and Betty Vondell Betty (Winters) McCarty in Oklahoma City. He passed from this life on Monday, March 12, 2012 in Maui, HI at the age of 52. Fred attended school at Farris and graduated from Atoka. He worked as a Journey Lineman. Fred enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding horses and team roping. He married Shannon Annette (Martin) on October 29, 2005 in Las Vegas, NV. Fred was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Vondell Betty McCarty. He is survived by his wife Shannon Annette McCarty of the home in Lane, children: Dusty McCarty and wife Stacy, Rusty McCarty of Antlers, Emily McCarty of Lane; father: Coy McCarty and wife Pat of Antlers; siblings: Abbie Jones of Center Point, Ronnie McCarty and wife Barbara of Center Point, Deborah Bishop of Antlers; step siblings: Tonya Garman of Antlers and Larry Moyers of Antlers; grandchildren: Riggin Chase McCarty of Ringold, Tinley Rose McCarty of Ringold, Hadley Blake Self of Ringold, Jaden Coy McCarty of Farris, Sara McGuire of Atoka; mother and father-in-law: Paul Martin and wife Barbara of Atoka; along with numerous other relatives and many dear and loved friends. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 22, 2012 at the Brown’s Funeral Chapel in Atoka with Rev. Herb Wharton officiating. The family held visitation from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 21, 2012. Pallbearers will include: Jimmy McCarty, Ronnie McCarty, Steven Moore, Tony Hallows, Rick Rector and Jeff Rector. Honorary Pallbearers will include: Rod Carter and Raymond Kendall.
