Free Youth Fishing Tournament

May 12, 2011

Hey kids, if you enjoy fishing, winning awards and prizes, and eating, then have your parents take you to McGee Creek Lake on Saturday, May 14. The Pushmataha County Sportsman Club will be hosting a free youth fishing tournament for any child under the age of sixteen. You can sign up at the Buster Hights boat ramp, just look for someone wearing a Pushmataha County Sportsman Club shirt. Fishing will begin at 8:00 a.m. and will end at 12:00 p.m. Immediately following the weigh-in will be a free cookout for all those that participated. Hot-dogs, chips and soft drinks will be served. Plaques and prizes will be awarded for the top three places. However, just about every kid that enters will be able to receive a prize for his or her catch.

Contestants may fish from the shore or from a boat. They may use live bait or artificial lures. Any species of fish may be kept and brought to the weigh-in. State length limits and possession limits must be observed.

So parents get you kids involved in the great outdoors and take them to the tournament for a day of fishing, food and prizes.
