Golf course to close

Antlers Springs Golf Course is closing.

I hate it but there is no other course of action. We barely make enough to mow, much less make improvements. Without local support we cannot continue.

There are few people coming into the game and many people giving it up for various reasons. I talk to people regularly who say that they haven’t played in a couple of years or more. These people used to play avidly.

Push County lost Nashoba Valley Golf Course a few years ago due to the same reasons. I know how Lee Helmke felt and it is not a good feeling.

At any rate it has been a pleasure writing this article the last 15 years. I am amazed at all the people who read it. Thank you. Maybe I can find something else to write about.
