Herman Carter

Herman Eugene Carter was born June 10, 1932 in Finley to Roy and Clara (Joslin) Carter. He passed from this life on January 28, 2012 in Finley at the age of 79. He enjoyed riding horses and hunting. Most of all, he loved spending time with his wife, kids, grand children and great grandchildren. Herman was preceded in death by his parents, brother Therman Carter, sisters Irene Israel and Maxine Crain. He is survived by his wife Luella Carter, six children, Boyd Carter and wife Beth, daughter Bonnie and husband Calvin Watts, son Troy Carter, son Carl Carter and LeahAnn, son Bob Carter and wife Audrey and son Melvin Carter, all of Finley; brothers Glen Carter and wife Mary Jo of River Pines, CA; Dale Carter of Finley, sisters Retha Love, CA and Mary Wanda (Dimple) Hacker of Lookeba and Wilma Joy (Bobbie) Crownover of Ashdown, AR; sixteen grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren as well as many nephews and nieces and numerous other family and friends. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at Glory Hill Assembly of God with Brother Conley Wright, Pastor Darrel Brien and Dallas Simmons officiating. Pallbearers were: Kent Carter, Clay Carter, Justin Grimmet, Kurt Carter, Timmy Graves, Bryce Carter, Kash Carter and Garvin Carter. Honorary pallbearers were: Bryant Rickman, John Nored, Ty House, Brent Smith, Zack Rosenthal, Mark Janoe, Glenda Creel and Brittany Hughes-Starrett. Interment followed at One Creek Valley Cemetery.
