Inmates back in custody

After around the clock searching, and countless man hours the two inmates that escaped from the Pushmataha County Jail are now back in custody and facing new criminal charges for escaping from a penal institution.
On Sunday night, February 16, two DOC inmates being housed in Pushmataha County Jail escaped after overpowering jail staff while the inmates were being served. The inmates were spotted by Antlers Police Department’s dispatchers and the hunt began.
Deputies began searching for the escapees immediately with the help of Choctaw County, Bryan County, Atoka County, Rattan Police Department, Antlers Police Department, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol and U.S. Marshals.
