John Cockrill

John Calvin Cockrill, 73, of Idabel passed from this life on October 7, 2012. He was born the youngest son of Calvin and Melvie Watson-Cockrill near Antlers. He lived in the Redland community at the time if his death. John was married to Nina Sure Henson-Cockrill on December 9, 1957. John and Nina have four children: Johnnie Sue Cockrill-Hill of Broken Bow; Nancy Cockrill-Worley of Prosper, TX.; Cindy Cockrill of Prosper, TX., Cindy Cockrill of Frisco, TX.; and Jeremy Cockrill of Frisco, TX. Nina proceeded him in death leaving their children to cherish his memory. John was survived by his second wife, Glenda Cockrill. They were married on March 9, 1999 in DeQueen, AR. John and Glenda have three children: Jessica Cockrill of Tulsa; John Calvin Cockrill Jr.; Dylan Cockrill and one stepson Chris Armstrong of Idabel; and is beloved sister Ruby Cockrill-Huckof Redway, CA.; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and numerous nephews, nieces and other relatives. John worked as a certified diesel mechanic and welder for several years in Dallas, TX. He worked for several years as a Millwright at Weyerhaeuser and also worked in law enforcement. He was proceeded in death by his parents, Calvin and Melvie Cockrill; sister Thelma Lee Mako; brother Samuel Morris Cockrill; two nephews, Morris Gene Cockrill and David Huck. John was loved by his family and they will cherish his memory and will never be forgotten. Graveside services were held at the Antlers City Cemetery with Randy Cockrill officiating the memorial services.
