Johnny Kenneth Autry

Johnny Kenneth Autry was born October 17, 1927 in Broken Arrow to Johnny Annual and Edna (Deatherage) Autry. He passed from this life April 5, 2011 in Antlers at the age of 83. Kenneth served his country in the United States Navy during World War II, aboard the USS Hornet. He later married Ruth Marie Brown on August 14, 1946 in Oklahoma City. Kenneth married again, in December 1974, to Juanita Hampton in Paris, TX. Kenneth was a member of the Antlers Masonic Lodge & he enjoyed logging and working as a mechanic. He could fix just about anything he worked on. Kenneth was preceded in death by both wives: Ruth Autry McCracken and Juanita Autry; grandson: John Autry; parents: Johnny & Edna Autry; and a sister: Ruth Medlock. He is survived by his children: Linda Jeffrey & husband Cris of Del City, Patricia Loisel & husband Jack of Yukon, Kenneth Wayne Autry & wife Barbara of Snow, and John David Autry & wife Ann of Blanchard; two step-children: Linda Booker of Moore and Jerry Hampton of Snow; siblings: Jack Autry, Lester Autry, & Marie Cleveland all of Broken Arrow; numerous grandchildren & great-grandchildren; as well as many other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 7, 2011 at the Mills & Coffey Chapel in Antlers with Reverend Andy Reed officiating. Musical selections included: "Amazing Grace," “Daddy's Hands" and "Peace In The Valley." Pallbearers were: Todd Joslin, Dillon Marshall, Lucas Austin, Steven Autry, David Autry and Will Robinson. Interment followed at the Finley Cemetery.
