Joseph George Malakowsky was born October 13, 1947 in Longview, WA., to Harvey and Geraldine (Guyon) Malakowsky. He passed from this life July 5, 2012 in Plano, TX., at the age of 64. Joseph married Barbara Ann Edwards October 10, 1969 in Murphy, TX. Joseph served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and Korean War as a Seargent First Class (E-7). During his military career, he served as a Drill Seargent, on the Tunnel Team DMZ, instructor at West Pointe and as an advisor for the national guard. He was an avid coin collector, loved learning about military history, westerns, cooking, drawing, hunting, woodworking and playing cards. Joseph was a supervisor and enjoyed giving advice to help others. He was also involved with the Masonic Lodge throughout his military career. Most of all, Joseph enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Joseph was preceded in death by his parents: Harvey & Geraldine Malakowsky; brother: Mike Malakowsky; sisters: Pat Harrison & Francis Malakowsky; grandparents: Joseph Guyon & Isabella Bourbonnais and George August Malakowsky & Anna Elizabeth Albertina Treichel. He is survived by his spouse: Barbara Malakowsky of the home; sons: Joseph G. Malakowsky, Jr. and wife Tiffany of Spencerville; Alan P. Malakowsky of Antlers; daughter: Malisa J. Hallman & husband Jody of Antlers; sister: Linda Steele of Antlers; grandchildren: Treena Malakowsky, Trevor Malakowsky, Trace Malakowsky, Harley Malakowsky, Talan Malakowsky, Jadin Malakowsky, Shandra Wilkerson, Layne Hallman, Brayton Hallman, & Brandt Hallman; great-grandchildren: Pipyr Gregory, Kyler Shane Battist, & Kayden Shane Wilkerson; as well as many other relatives and friends. Memorial services were held at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at the Antlers First Baptist Church with Reverend Aaron Reed & Brent Franks officiating.
