J.W. ( Jake ) Cole

J. W. (Jake) Cole was born September 17, 1940 in Antlers to Henry and Trummie Nora (Dunlap) Cole. He passed from this life October 2, 2011 in Antlers at the age of 71. Jake married Margaret Breshears on October 31, 1958 in Hugo. They remained married for 52 years. Jake was of the Baptist faith, and he enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, gardening, four-wheeling, traveling, & spending time with his family & friends. Jake was preceded in death by his parents: Henry & Trummie Cole; grandparents: William James & Margaret Cole, & William & Zellar Dunlap; brothers: Willard Cole, R. C. Cole, Marvin Cole, & Larry Cole; sisters: Velvie Bates & Thelma White. He is survived by his wife: Margaret of the home; children: David Cole & wife Cathy of Antlers, Cindy Wall & husband Mike of Rattan, Margie Teel & husband Larry of Sperry, & Jeff Cole & wife Donna of Kellond; grandchildren: Chandra Buss & husband David, Joshua Cole & wife Elaine, Kellie Rutledge & husband Joey, Kevin Garman, Alex Doshier, Cody Teel, Cheyenne Teel, Buck Phelan & wife Elizabeth, Jennifer Sloan & husband Cody, & Jakeob Cole; great-grandchildren: Aurora Buss, Robbie Jo Buss, Tanner Trent, Tracer Rutledge, Kadence Garman, Chandler Garman, Stetson Cole, Bryden Cole, Stetson Phelan, Bethany Phelan, & Paisley Sloan; brothers: H. C. Cole, Gene Cole, J. C. Cole, Buddy Cole, Steve Cole, Marty Cole, Carl Cole, & Mark Cole; sisters: May Standridge, & Margaret Ludlow; as well as many other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 5, 2011 at the Mills & Coffey Chapel in Antlers with Pastor David Goff officiating. Musical selections included "Ain't No Grave," "Healing Just Begun," "Amazing Grace - My Chains Are Gone" and "You're My Best Friend." Pallbearers included: Joey Eden, Justin Eden, Willard Chapman, Buck Phelan, David Buss and Joey Rutledge. Interment followed at the Antlers City Cemetery in Antlers.
