Lady Cats defeat the Lady Rams and move to 8-1

The Antlers Lady Cats traveled to Rattan to take on the Lady Rams last Thursday. The gym was packed to capacity, with standing room only.

At the end of the first period, the score was tied at 2-2. Both teams played great defense and at the end of the second period, the score was still tight with the Lady Cats leading by only 2, with a score of 15 to 13.

Both teams were still fired up coming out from half and the crowd was energized. At the end of the third period, the game was still close with the Lady Cats leading by 4, 24 to 20. Both teams continued to fight hard in the fourth period; however, the Lady Cat’s free throw shooting sustained the lead, with a final score of 44 to 33.

The Lady Cat stats were as follows: Chelsie Thomas, 12 points, 4 rebounds, 4 steals and 2 for 2 on free throws; Cheyanne Simpson, 10 points, 4 rebounds, 1 steal and 2 for 4 on free throws; Megan Brame, 9 points, 1 assist, 2 rebounds,1 steal and 5 for 6 on free throws; Kendie Bryant, 9 points, 1 rebound, 2 assists, 4 steals and 4 for 4 on free throws; Meagan Wilburn, 2 points, 2 assist, 7 rebounds, 1 steal and 1 charge taken; Emma Branton 2 points; Macy Smith, 2 assists and 1 rebound.

The Lady Cats travel to Tushka Thursday to play in the Tushka Invitational Tournament.
