Lady Cats Take Tushka Tournament

Lady Cats win Tushka Tournament and team member Megan Brame was named All Tournament and Chelsi Thomas was All Tournament MVP.

The Antlers Lady Cats traveled to Tushka for the Ameristate Basketball Tournament this last weekend. The Lady Cats faced three opponents to come away with the championship trophy and All Tournament Team honors. The Lady Cat’s first opponent was the Moyers Lady Tigers.

The Lady Cats prevailed over the Lady Tigers with a final score of 59 to 15, advancing them to the semi final game against the Hartshorne Lady Miners. The Lady Cat stats were as follows: Chelsi Thomas, 12 points, 1 assist and 1 rebound; Cheyanne Simpson, 10 points, 2 assists and 1 rebound; Kendie Bryant, 9 points, 2 assists and 4 rebounds; Megan Brame, 8 points, 3 assists and 1 rebound; Macy Smith, 6 points and 1 rebound; Michelle Smith, 4 points, 1 assist and 3 rebounds; Emma Branton, 4 points and 3 rebounds; Meagan Wilbourn, 2 points and 1 rebound; Tiffany Noel, 2 points. The team shot 11 for 16 at the free throw line for 69%.

With the win against the Lady Tigers, the Lady Cats advanced to the semi finals and faced the Hartshorne Lady Miners. The Lady Cats defeated the Lady Miners, 40 to 22. The Lady Cat stats were as follows: Cheyanne Simpson, 11 points, 4 assists, and 2 rebounds; Meagan Wilbourn, 8 points and 4 rebounds; Megan Brame, 8 points and 2 assists; Chelsi Thomas, 7 points, 3 assists and 5 rebounds; Kendie Bryant, 4 points and 2 assists; Emma Branton, 2 points. The team shot 6 for 8 at the free throw line for 75%.

With a win against the Lady Minors the Lady Cats advanced to the tournament final against the Wright City Lady Jax. The Lady Cats defeated the Lady Jax, 31 to 16. The Lady Cat Stats were as follows: Emma Branton, 10 points and 9 rebounds; Kendie Bryant, 7 points, 2 assists, 4 rebounds and 1 blocked shot; Megan Brame, 4 points, 4 assists and 1 blocked shot; Meagan Wilbourn, 4 points and 2 rebounds; Chelsie Thomas, 2 points and 10 rebounds; Cheyanne Simpson, 2 points and 3 rebounds. The Lady Cats had 2 players selected to all tournament team, Megan Brame all tournament and Chelsi Thomas, MVP.

The Lady Cats have a full schedule this week. The Lady Cats travel to Savanna Tuesday and play at 6:30PM. They return home for Home Coming Thursday and take on the 17th ranked Atoka Lady Wampus. Then Friday, the Lady Cats play at home again against the Tushka.
