Larry Junior Carter, the son of the late Woodrow Wilson Carter and Ruby Irene (Hallam) Carter, was born on August 26, 1948 in Oilton. The former Yale area resident and most recently of Rattan, passed from this life on December 9, 2012 in Rattan at the age of 64 years. Larry was united in marriage to Brenda Green on June 15, 1997 in Rattan, where they resided until his death. Larry worked at various jobs during his lifetime but mostly as a truck driver. His hobbies included fishing, coon hunting, watching football, enjoying nature and hiking in the woods. He always looked forward to spending time with his large family, especially during the holidays.In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by one sister, Hazel Carter and one brother, Michael Carter. Survivors include his wife Brenda of the home; four sons, Brian Carter, Sammy Carter, David Carter all of Perry, and Jason Carter of Spencerville; one daughter, Sonya Kelley of Lawton; two step-daughters, Vicky Rosson and Heather Wheeler of Rattan; grandchildren, Devin Carter, Jesse Carter, Jessica Kelley, Ashley Kelley, Jennifer Kelley, Michael Kelley, Cameron Carter, Korbyn Carter, Ekko Carter, Christina Carter, McKayla Carter, and Caleb Carter; four brothers, Marvin Carter of Winston-Salem NC, Richard Carter of Jennings, Randy Carter of Yale, and Tim Carter of Sapulpa; two sisters, Clara Lewis and Joyce DeShazer both of Yale; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Services have been entrusted to the care of the Palmer Marler Funeral Home and will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 15, 2012 in the First Assembly of God Church, Yale with Pastor Randell Newby officiating.
