Ludie Clara Harrison was born March 27, 1914 in Little Cedar to Matthew Cole and Eustacia Jane (Reid) Smith. She passed from this life June 2, 2011 in Antlers at the age of 97. Ludie Clara Smith married Alton Ike Harrison in Antlers on December 28, 1931. She was the last surviving member of the Smith Family. Ludie was a member of the Little Cedar Baptist Church. She was a very talented cook and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Ludie was preceded in death by her husband: Alton Ike Harrison; a son: Alton Harrison, Jr.; parents: Matthew & Eustacia Smith. She is survived by a daughter: Velvree Partin & husband Oscar of Arkansas City, KS; three grandchildren: Halley Rosebeary & husband David of Albemarle, NC., Chrystal McKinney & husband Dr. Rick of Newton, KS., and Lisa Virden & husband Glen of Manhattan, KS.; six great grandchildren: Justin Rosebeary, Neil Rosebeary, Cole McKinney, Paige McKinney, Kody Virden, & Kyndol Virden; as well as many other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, June 6, 2011 at the Antlers First Baptist Church with Reverend JW Ray and Reverend Philip Savage officiating. Musical selections included special music by David and Montie Smith. Pallbearers were: Mike Baggett, Bob Carper, Kevin Carper, Justin Rosebeary, Cole McKinney, Neil Rosebeary and Kody Virden. Honorary pallbearers included: the men of Little Cedar Baptist Church. Interment followed at the Finley Cemetery in Finley. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Little Cedar Baptist Church of Antlers or First Southern Baptist Church of Arkansas City, KS ~ 138 E Kansas, Arkansas City, KS 67005.
