Lee Roy Ward

Lee Roy Ward was born April 22, 1915 in Kosoma, to Eastman and Sibble (Frazier) Ward. He passed from this life November 30, 2012 in Antlers, at the age of 97. Lee Roy married his beloved, Alice Ann Betsey, in Paris, TX. He worked for Muskogee Bridge Co. for many years. Lee Roy enjoyed gardening, playing the piano, fishing, hunting, playing pranks on others , which made him the greatest jokester. After work he liked to work on his trucks. Most of all Lee Roy enjoyed spending time with his family. Lee Roy was preceded in death by his parents: Eastman and Sibble Ward; his wife: Alice Ann Ward; two sisters: Rachel McCarty and Berneice McCarty; and two brothers: Josiah Ward and Luther Ward; and one daughter: Jean DiNardo. He is survived by three sons: Billy Joe Peters of Oklahoma City, Floyd Peters of Antlers, and Marvin Peters of Antlers; five daughters: Margaret Raye of Albuquerque, NM, Barbara Cates of Durant, Rhonda Juarez of Albuquerque, NM, Roberta Williams of Atoka, and Janis Lee Ward of Garland, TX; 26 grandchildren; 54 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren and 3 more on the way; as well as many other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at 2:00 PM, Monday, December 3, 2012 at Mills & Coffey Funeral Chapel with Reverend Ernie Baker officiating and Eulogy by Silas McFarland. Music was performed by the Choctaw Singers. Pallbearers included Eddie Leyba, David Ward, Troy Splawn, Jimmy Pound, Gerald Harper, & Daniel Baker. Interment followed at Zoraya Cemetery.
