The Postmaster of the Antlers Post Office has informed us that on Thursday, November 3, 2011 the Postal Inspection Agency discovered a total of 5 mailboxes that had been blown up in the Antlers' area. Two of the mailboxes were located on North Hall Road and the other three were on Airport Road. Two of the mailboxes had mail in them at the time of the explosion leaving burnt reminisces of the resident’s mail.

According to officials, this doesn’t appear to have been done by using simple fireworks like M-80’s but they didn’t find any metal shavings to indicate a pipe bomb of any kind. Either way they are taking this matter very seriously and are asking for the help of local residents.

If you have seen who is doing this or have any information that might help them be caught please don’t hesitate to call the Postal Inspection Agency at 1-877-876-2455, the Antlers Post Office at 580-298-2526 or the Pushmataha County Sheriff’s Department at 580-298-5513. All information shared will be and remain confidential.
