Local NWTF Chapter to host banquet and fundraiser auction

On Saturday, July 21st, the Pushmataha County Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation (NWTF) will hold its annual banquet and fundraiser auction at the Choctaw Nation Community Room in Antlers.

The event is a fun and exciting evening that raises money for the NWTF. Many outdoors related items, such as guns, furniture, home decor and much more, will be auctioned off or given away in raffles.

Many businesses and individuals sponsor this event every year. Tickets for the event can be purchased from any local committee member of at the door the night of the event. 2012 Committee Members are: Rick Mitchell, Jordan Haddox, Billy Jack Wilkerson, Chance Baker, Kaci Critchlow, Tony Cox, Chad Wilkerson, Shandra Wilkerson, Amy Mitchell and Wes Haddox. Also helping at the event will be Jane Tucker, Gayla Haddox, Cindy Akard and NWTF Regional Director Don Chitwood.

The event will be catered by Mike Wood of Pruett’s Food. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. with the meal starting around 6:30 p.m. A live and silent auction will be held as well as games and raffles.

At least 9 rifles/shotguns and 2 pistols will be at this year’s event. They include: the shotgun OTY Browning Silver hunter semi-auto 20 GA; pistol OTY Remington 1911R1; Jakes GOTY Weatherby Vanguard Youth .243 cal; Marlin 60 DLX S-Auto Walnut stock .22 cal 60th anniversary gun; Mossberg Silver Reserve O/U 12 GA; Remington 870 Express Compact Realtree Hardwoods 20 GA; Rossi Pick 4 Youth 410/22/243/20 cal; Tristar Setter O/U Turkey Choke 12 GA; Taurus Millennium Pro .40 cal pistol; sponsor incentive Stoefer O/U 12 GA; and a 30 day gun - Tristar single shot 12 GA with case.
