Lois Jane Owens

Lois Jane Owens, 90, of Nashoba, passed away Thursday, April 17th, 2014 in Antlers. Lois was born in Fond du Lac, WI on February 18, 1924, a daughter of the late Marian (Griffiths) and George W Marshall. She married Gerald Owens on December 6, 1942 in Marvel, AR. Lois was a very colorful and adventurous person, she was a horse trainer and professional bowler. She is in the Oklahoma Bowling Hall of Fame for a perfect game she bowled on March 17, 1961. Lois loved fishing and riding her motorcycle and she was a member of The Motor Maids of America. She and Gerald traveled the country together on their motorcycles. Lois played the organ and made the best cornbread dressing you ever had. She was a wonderful cook and loved being outdoors, flowers, gardening and animals. She is survived by her Husband Gerald Owens, of Nashoba; Daughter Carol West, of Nashoba; Son Jerry R Owens and wife Connie, of Cleveland; Granddaughter Alicia DeWitt Somers and husband Walter, of Jacksonville, FL; Grandson Mike Owens and wife Angie, of Flower Mound, TX; Grandson Scott Owen, of Tulsa; Granddaughter Kristie Owens, of Tulsa; Granddaughter Shannon Bellefleur and husband Eddie; Granddaughter Ashley McClane and husband Ian, of Plano, TX; Nephew Russ Welch and wife Jan, of Summit Lake, WI; Niece Cheryl McLeod, of Racine, WI. She is also survived by 14 Great-Grandchildren, 3 Great-Great-Grandchildren, as well as a host of other relatives and friends. Lois was proceded in death by her Parents and 3 Siblings Ella Welch-Kelly, Walter Marshall and Peggy McCoy. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to your favorite charity. Graveside services were held at Nolia Cemetery in Nashoba, at 2:00pm on Monday, April 21, 2014 with Mickey Bradley officiating. Honorary pallbearers were Larry Jackson, Junior Jackson, Richard Rojas and Larry Coslow. Arrangements were entrusted to Burkhart Funeral Service - Clayton.
