Margaret Rose Spradlin

Margaret Rose Spradlin was born February 16, 1925 in Durant, to Donald and Rosalie (Jackson) Butcher. She passed from this life March 17, 2013, in Paris, TX, at the age of 88. Margaret married J.D. Spradlin, Jr. on December 25, 1943 in Durant. They had been married for 69 years and together, had raised three children. Margaret was an avid quilter and was a member of the Monday Miller Quilters for over 30 years, where she helped with design. Margaret was also a long-time member of the Pushmataha County Quilt Guild. She also shared her sewing talents through the Florence Extension Homemakers, which made garments for the county fair. Margaret enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Margaret was preceded in death by her son: Jimmy Lee Spradlin; and a brother: Harry Butcher. She is survived by her husband: J.D. of the home; son: Dewey Donald Spradlin of San Francisco, CA; daughter: Rosemary Ann Garcia & husband Lloyd of Los Altos, CA; two grandchildren: Megan Rose Garcia & Daniel Garcia; sister-in-law: Royce Butcher and her daughter Kellie Butcher of Durant; as well as many other relatives and friends. Graveside Services were held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at Antlers City Cemetery with Reverend Aaron Reed officiating. Interment followed.
