On Monday, May 7, 2012 the Antlers City Council held their monthly meeting in City Hall starting at 5:00 p.m. The meeting was called to order and an quorum was established. Minutes and purchase orders were then approved by the council and it was on to the first order of business.
The council approved the extension of the Pushmataha Hospitalâ€™s mortgage modification agreement with FirstBank until May 31, 2012. They also approved a lease agreement with Ron Potter for the municipal pool concessions area.
After voting on those matters, the council; took action on a resolution #2012-3, a Fair housing resolution. Once approved by all members, they declared the month of May as Fair Housing Month.
Item number 7 on the agenda was to consider Wall Engineering contractorâ€™s application for payment number 1 in the amount of $8,350.00, to be paid to Brentâ€™s Heat & Air, for the Antlers Airport Terminal building. This item was approved by the council.
Item #8 was to consider a payment in the about of $20,484.00 to be paid to Mid-Plains Construction for the 2011 Library addition to the Antlers Public Library. This was approved.
The next item was to consider replacing Jim Gentry, who resigned, from the Planning and Zoning, Board of Adjustments and Board of Appeals. Bradley Burrage was appointed to this position.
Next they discussed new business and the City Manager, Joel Taylor, mentioned that a handicap lift must be put in place at the city pool for it to be up to code. This could cost around $5,000. Taylor also mentioned that the 911 mapping of the county was about to start taking place.
