Mentoring Program Knows Summer Fun

Little Dixie Community Action Agency’s Passport to the Future mentoring program took the children pictured on a summer fishing trip on June 15. The event is part of the program’s summer activity series, and included children from Antlers and Hugo. Special recognition goes out to Tom & Deborah Hadley for hosting the event. The children are shown with Passport to the Future staff members Tonya Finley, Doris Long, John Morton and Angie Smith.

Keeping stuff going for the Mentoring Program this summer is a big deal with kids being out of school and the Little Dixie Community Action Agency’s Passport to the Future Mentoring Program has big plans.

The group kicked off June with Swimming at the Antlers Pool on June 8th and the 22nd.  They all met up at the Little People Park at 12 noon for pizza, then walk over to the swimming pool. 

On June 15th they went fishing at a private pond at the Hadley home in Grant,  leaving Antlers office at 10:00 A.M. 

All of their mentees are encouraged to attend the “One World, Many Stories” summer reading event that takes place at the Antlers Library, startign on the 16th. There staff will be at the Library every Thursday.  

On the 17th they had hotdogs for donations at the “Pickin On The Porch” event at the Wildlife Historical Museum Center in Antlers. These events will take place ever other Friday throughout the summer.
