Michael Don Wilson

Michael “Mike” Don Wilson was born January 17, 1943, in Hugo to Harmon “Bill” Wilson and June (Brackeen) Wilson. Mike, resident of Antlers, passed from this life on Monday, May 23, 2011 at the age of 68, at OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City. He graduated from Antlers High School in 1961 after attending school in Los Alamos, NM and Prineville, OR. Mike married Nancy Cooper in 1963 and worked as a teller and later a Vice-President at the First National Bank in Antlers. He also worked at the Sequoyah State Bank in Muldrow as Vice-President and Los Alamos Credit Union. In his later years he enjoyed working alongside his uncle Paul Bailey Brackeen. He was a member of the Jaycees, served in the U.S. Army Reserves, and was a deacon of the First Christian Church in Antlers. Mike enjoyed reading, trivia, and researching the family’s genealogy, but his true joy was spending time with his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father and brother, Harmon Eldon, Jr. Mike is survived by his mother, June Brackeen Dopson; daughter, Jessica and husband Jim Berry of Shawnee; son, Michael, Jr. and wife Natalie of Frisco, TX, stepdaughter, Patti Bess and husband Woody Olsen of Shady Point; grandchildren: Nicholas, Spencer & Alexandra Berry; Cooper, Emily & Carter Wilson; Rebecca, Holli & Adam Jones & six great-grandchildren; sister, Jerry Lee Hupke, brother & sister-in-law, Tom & Marianne Wilson, brother, Billy Wilson & numerous family members and friends. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 26, 2011 at the First United Methodist Church in Antlers with Brent Franks and Reverend Andy Reed officiating. Music will be provided by David Smith. Pallbearers will include: Amos Farr, Billy Jack Barnett, James Cather, Hal Brame, David Smith, Bob West and Ralph Winters, Jr. Honorary pallbearers are: Mark Sena, J. Brian Sena, Pete Byers, David Griffin, Trae Harris and Bill Cooper. Interment will follow at the Antlers City Cemetery. Family and friends may send online condolences at www.millscoffey.com.
