September 8, 2011

On Saturday, September 3, 2011 deputies with the Pushmataha County Sheriff’s Department were dispatched to a home on Cornelius Road at around 4:00 p.m. where they found the body of William Riley Seale, Jr, a 67 year old white male, of Antlers.

According to Special Agent Chris Dill of the OSBI (Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigations) Seale had died of multiple gun shot wounds from a 20 gage shotgun. Seale was shot in the chest and abdomen areas. How many times for sure Seale was shot is unknown at this time and the OSBI is awaiting the Medical Examiners final report.

Ronald David Devin, a 48 year old white male from Antlers, entered Seale’s home with the intent on robbing him and then after entry, during the robbery, shot and killed Seale. Devin was arrested at approximately 7:00 p.m. Upon his arrest officers removed a .45 caliber pistol from the waistband of his pants.

According to reports, after Devin shot and killed Seale, he was later seen in Jim Ray’s Quick Stop where he had a bag with money in it and what appeared to have been blood on the bag. The bag is currently waiting on forensic analysis to confirm or deny.

Devin told another party that he had shot and killed Seale on Friday night, September 2, 2011 at approximately 11:00 p.m. After killing Seale, Devin took several of Seale’s possessions including a .45 caliber pistol. The pistol was later identified as belonging to Seale by the man who had sold it to Seale.

On September 3rd, OSBI conducted a search of the property where Devin was staying. Located inside an abandoned trailer behind Devin’s motor home were several firearms and fixed blade hunting knives as well as a metal box containing several knives and ammunition. Etched on one knife was TO: RILEY, FROM: JESSIE.

Devin admitted to going to Seale’s residence to kill him. He also confessed to shooting Seale three times in the chest area with a 20 gauge shotgun that was taken from an acquaintance’s residence. Devin also admitted to taking several firearms and other items from Seale’s residence after killing him.

This case is still under investigation and they are waiting on forensics, their lab work and the medical examiners report out of Tulsa. They are also pursuing more leads.

Devin is currently being charged with Murder in the First Degree - Malice Aforethought (felony) and Possession of a Firearm After Former Felony Conviction (felony). If charged within the fullest extent of the law Devin could be facing the death penalty, imprisonment for life or imprisonment for life without parole.
