New titles released to DVD

The releases coming to DVD this week are a collaboration of horror, comedy, drama, and espionage.

Intruders (R): Two children living in different countries are visited nightly by a faceless being who wants to take possession of them. Clive Owens stars in this new horror movie.

The Three Stooges (PG): While trying to save their childhood orphanage, Moe, Larry and Curly inadvertently stumble into a murder plot and wind up staring in a reality TV show.

Get the Gringo (R): Mel Gibson returns in this action thriller about a career criminal nabbed my Mexican authorities and placed in a tough prison where he learns to survive with the help of a nine year old boy.

Deserter (R): Based on true events, a young Englishman’s resilience is tested when he joins the French Foreign Legion during the 1960’s. Stars Tom Hardy and Paul Fox.

Friends with Kids (R): Two best friends decide to have a child together while keeping their relationship platonic, so they can avoid the toll kids can take on romantic relationships.

Casa De Mi Padre (R): Will Ferrell stars in this off the wall comedy about the Alvarez brothers who find themselves in a war with Mexico’s most feared drug lord as they try to save their father’s ranch.

Lockout (R): A man wrongly convicted of conspiracy to commit espionage against the U.S. is offered his freedom if he can rescue the president’s daughter from an outer space prison taken over by violent inmates. Guy Pierce and Maggie Grace star in this Sci-Fi Thriller.

Movies that were released last week (the week of July 10th) were:

American Reunion (R): The entire cast of the original American Pie movie are reunited as they return home for their High School Reunion.

Being Flynn (R): Working in a Boston homeless shelter, Nick Flynn encounters his long lost father, a con man. He wrestles with the idea of reaching out to try and reconnect with his father, played by Robert De Niro.

Black Limousine: A former big-time Hollywood composer (David Arquette) hits rock bottom and ends up becoming a chauffeur to pay his bills. He meets a mysterious and beautiful woman at an AA meeting who he falls in love with ass he tries to restore his life.

The Flowers of War (R): Christian Bale starts as a Westerner who finds refuge with a group of women in a church during Japan’s rape of Nanking in 1937. Posing as a priest, he attempts to lead the women to safety.
