Information was received this week concerning the delayed release of information from a fatality collision that occurred on November 11, 2011 four miles west of Albion on HWY 271. The collision took place at approximately 10:03 p.m.
A 2004 Toyota pickup being driven by Jace B. Cable, a 22 year old white male from Clayton, was traveling north on HWY 271 when it ran of the left side of the roadway, struck a culvert, overturned twice and threw both the driver and passenger out of the vehicle before it caught fire.
The driver, Cable, left the scene of the accident but later arrived at the Clayton Police Department prior to being airlifted to the OSU Medical Center in Tulsa with trunk internal and external and leg injuries. He was listed in good condition and has been since released.
The passenger, Cecilia D. Bissell, a 32 year old white female from Chico, CA, was airlifted to St. Frances Hospital in Tulsa in critical condition with head, trunk (external and internal), arm and leg injuries. She expired at 9:30 a.m. on November 17, 2011.
According to the report the cause of the collision was the driver was operating the motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and his abilities were impaired. Neither the driver, nor the passenger were wearing set belts at the time of the collision.
This collision was investigated by Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper Tommy Allen, #304 of the Choctaw-Pushmataha County Detachment.
