Olen Dixon Durant was born August 27, 1934 in Corinne to Wilson Jones & Jincey Durant. He passed from this life February 10, 2012 in Hugo at the age of 77. Olen married Maude Billy January 19, 1961 in Dallas, TX. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Olen enjoyed singing, watching OU and Dallas Cowboys, western movies, fishing and spending time with his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father and step-mother: Wilson & Susan Jones; mother: Jincey Durant; daughter: Velma Jane Durant; aunt: Annie Billy; great-grandson: Anthony McKinney, Jr.; sisters: Nora Watkins and Elbine Thomas. Olen is survived by his wife: Maude Durant of the home; sons: Esman Durant & wife Connie of Sherwood, Patrick Durant of Sobol, Darin Durant of Philadelphia, MS; daughters: Marsha McKinney of Idabel and Melissa Aaron of Idabel; sister: Vinita Sanders of Bennington; 12 grandchildren: David McKinney, Jr., Anthony McKinney, Diana McKinney, Regina McKinney, Melton Aaron, Brent Durant, Sophie Durant, Brianna Durant, J. J. Durant, Mathew Durant, Hailey Durant, & Emily Durant; 11 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 15, 2012 at Goodwater United Methodist Church with Pastor Tommy Wesley officiating. Music was Special Selections by The Kulli Chito Choir. Pallbearers were Bobby Baker, Vincent Baker, Floyd Maytubbi, David McKinney, Hobi Taylor, & James Kolen; with Honorary Pallbearers as David McKinney, Jr. & Anthony McKinney.
