Perry “Ben” Morton

Perry Ben Morton was born March 8, 1922 in Pine Springs to Elijah and Ida (Palmer) Morton. He passed from this life on Tuesday, January 24, 2012 in the Veteran’s Administration Center in Talihinia at the age of 89. Ben served his country in the US Army during WWII, and received a Purple Heart. Ben was married to the love of his life, Blanche (Wilson) Coats, on May 10, 1946. Ben bore no children, but treated his two stepsons as his own. Ben was preceded in death by his first wife, Blanche Coats; his second wife, Lucille (Gross), stepson, Samuel B. Coats; brothers, Fred, Henry, Richard & Bob Buel Morton; sisters, Hazel Sipes, Minnie Adams, Lois Elkins; grandson, Bob Coats. He was survived by his stepson, Jerry and wife, Connie Coats of Tulsa; 3 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Ben was cremated, at his request.
