Mike Apple sets new lake record

Lake record fish have been plentiful out of Pine Creek Lake in McCurtain County and another one has recently be caught.

On Thursday, June 23, 2011 Mike Apple of Grannis, AR., reeled in a 8.6 lb Largemouth bass using the bait casting rod and reel method with spinner bait.

The fish was weighed while alive and the angler chose to keep the fish. The record breaking bass was caught in an area called Rocky Point. The bass’s official measurements were 23.50” long and it had a girth of 17.” The fish was checked in at Uncle Bens in Valliant.
