Pine Creek Lake Team Bass Tournament

June 15, 2011

On Saturday, June 11, members of the Pushmataha County Sportsman Club held a team bass tournament on Pine Creek Lake. The lake is ten feet below normal level due to repair construction being done on the dam. The areas that most anglers usually fish were high and dry which made locating bass difficult for some. However, there were a few that seemed to have no trouble finding some "keeper" bass.

The team of Billy Latham and Earl Jones won the tournament. They had a six fish limit that weighed 19.78 pounds. Terry Thurman finished in second place with a six fish limit that weighed 18.51 pounds. Terry also had the big bass of the tournament with a bass weighing 4.71 pounds. Third place was won by Billy and Eugene Hensley. Their stringer weighed 14.51 pounds.

The club’s next event is a bass tournament on June 25. It will be held on Sardis Lake. Launch site for the tournament will be the Sardis Cove boat ramp. Fishing times will be from "safe light" until 3:00 p.m.
