Pocket knife ban remedied

April 17, 2014

In an effort to relax certain laws, an ordinance was passed at the last Antlers City council meeting to remove the city code in place since 2009 that banned pocket knives. However, an important subsection was left out by the Council which kept pocket knives illegal.

"We messed up when we filed it originally. We left out an important subsection which would allow pocket knives. We had a meeting yesterday and corrected this issue making it legal to carry pocket knives in the City of Antlers" said City of Antlers Mayor Mike Burrage.

A Second Amendment rights activist group was the first to point out the mix-up to Antlers officials after it was published, verbatim, in The Antlers American's legal section April 10th.
