Pushmataha County Fair to take place Sept. 19th - 22nd

Once again it is time for the Pushmataha County Free Fair to take place. Indoor fair entries will be accepted on Wednesday, September 19, 2012 beginning at 10:00 a.m. and will close at 6:00 p.m.

On Thursday, September 20, 2012, all baked goods and fresh flower arrangements must be entered by 9:00 a.m. The exhibit building will be closed until after the judging is completed.

All livestock must be entered by 12:00 - noon, on Thursday, September 20, 2012.

The Goat Show will be on Thursday evening, September 20th, starting at 4:00 p.m. The Best Dressed Animal Contest will also be held on Thursday. It will begin at 7 p.m. being followed by the Stick Horse Barrel Races at 7:30 p.m., and Kid’s Roping after the Races conclude. Belt Buckles will be given in the Kid’s Roping to the winners of their age groups.

Friday morning, September 21, will start off at 10:00 a.m. with the Livestock Judging for 4-H and FFA members. Judging of Rabbits and Poultry will be done around 1:30 p.m.; and the Cattle, Sheep and Swine Show will begin at 4:30 p.m.

On Saturday, September 22, 2012, the Fair Play Day will take place at the Cowboy Round Up Church Arena (located behind the McGraw Oil Company) in Antlers. Entries begin at 7:00 p.m. with the event starting at 8:00 p.m. Rules for the playday include: No entries will be taken after play day begins NO EXCEPTIONS, Exhibitor must ride the same horse in every event to qualify for All Around, No Exhibitions, and the All Around winners will be based on event times.

Age divisions include: Lead Line 0-5, Pee Wee 0-5, Little Britches 6-9, Junior 10-13, Senior 14-18 and Adults 19 and over. Belt buckles will be awarded to the All Around winners.

The OHCE ladies will be serving Taco salads, Beans, Chili, Nachos and Homemade pies. They will also serve breakfast on Friday and Saturday mornings.

Fair books are available at the OSU Extension Office in Antlers.
