December 22, 2011

Pvt. Ashley Webb, 23, of Antlers, performs stretches in preparation for a diagnostic physical fitness test during drill with the Oklahoma Army National Guard's Recruit Sustainment Program.

Pvt. Ashley Webb, a graduate of Rattan High School, enlisted in the National Guard in May 2011 with East Central University's Gold Program. Upon graduation at ECU, Webb, an automated logistics specialist, will be commissioned to second lieutenant.

Webb says the college benefits are what brought her to the National Guard. "I joined for the money to go to college with the tuition waiver," she says, "and because so many in my family are in the military."

Her father, Staff Sgt. Steven Webb, is a recruiter for the Oklahoma Army National Guard in Durant and says his daughter is a sixth generation Soldier.
