Rattan School Board Facing Difficult Questions at Special Meeting

April 14, 2011

Rattan School Board to hold special meeting Thursday, April 14 at 7 p.m. to answer tough questions.

On Thursday, April 14, 2011 the Rattan School Board will be holding a special meeting at 7:30 p.m. at the Rattan High School in Ram Hall. At this meeting several questions will be answered that have been being asked by the community, parents and others. At the end of the 17 questions, the floor will be opened for any additional questions the public may have. If you feel more comfortable dropping off your questions as you enter the meeting, a drop box will be provided.

Moderating the meeting will be Luther Roden, Pastor of the Cloudy Baptist Church. Keep in mind this is not the time nor place to ask about report cards, sports schedules, or about specific issues that should be done in parent teacher conferences or in a special meeting with facility. This is not that kind of meeting. At the meeting the list of questions that are going to be addressed will be provided as a print out when you come in.

As of now no time limit is set for the meeting. The Board plan on answering any and all questions that the community has and to resolve their concerns as best they can.

Below are some of the questions that will be answered at the meeting: Has the school district been allowing people or a person to use their land for private use without a contract and without being paid for such?; How many employees of the Rattan school district are relatives either through family or marriage of the school superintendent?; Would the school district allow a public results, third party audit of its bank accounts and spending for the previous decade?; Please address the rumors about sexual “parties” being held off school grounds, with the knowledge of some school teachers or school employees.; and How much money did the school district actually save by cutting back to four days each week.
