Rebecca Pearl Noah

Rebecca Pearl Noah was born February 9, 1917 in Finley, to Josephus M. and Rena Pearl (Miller) Sherred. She passed from this life May 3, 2012 in Antlers, at the age of 95. Rebecca was married to Webster Noah until his passing on August 25, 1993. She worked in many different positions, working as a seamstress, and she was also employed at the Naval Ammunition Depot in McAlester, until she earned her Master's Degree in Education. Rebecca spent her entire teaching career as an elementary teacher at the Teec Nos Pos Boarding School in Teec Nos Pos, Arizona, working there until her retirement. Although Rebecca & Webster had no children together, she loved her nieces, nephews, & extended family as her own and thoroughly enjoyed spending time with them.
Rebecca was preceded in death by her husband: Webster Noah; parents: Josephus & Rena Sherred; brothers: Warren Sherred, John Dixon Sherred, & Josephus Sherred; sister: Ethel Williams; nephew: Harvey Williams; and a niece: Edna Gibson. She is survived by her nephews: Bennie Gibson of Norman and Kerry Sherred of Farmington, NM, and John D. Williams of Lane; nieces: Norma Choate & husband Andy of Finley, Lou Billy of Finley, and Mary Williams of Broken Bow; great-nephews & great-nieces: Michael Gibson & wife Karen of Norman and their children, Joshua, Justus, & Jessie, Karla Heritage & husband Gilbert of Beaumont, TX, Warren Choate of Durant, Edward Choate of Muskogee, Jacquelyn Quiver of Mesquite, TX and her children, Holly & husband Michael Mejorado and Kari Quiver, Rebecca Jane "Janie" Choate of Mesquite, TX, Harvey "Ted" Williams & wife Lisa of Durant, and his children Alyssa, Lauren, Gabrielle, & Brett, Jerry Williams & Nettie of Antlers, and his children, Jerry, Jr., Sapphire, & Jordan, Ethel Louise & Maurice Baker of Durant, and her children, Melanie, Jillian, & Britten, John Kenneth Williams of Topeka, KS, and his children, Bailey, Cale, & Taryne, and Jonna Lynn Williams of Antlers, and her daughter, Krysten, Garry Lee Williams of Topeka, KS, and his children, Elizabeth & Vivien, Jonathan Dale Williams & wife Carrie of Cypress, TX, and their children, Jon Michael & Jalyn, Justin Glenn Williams & wife Ana of Bryan, TX, and their children, Anika, Ariana, & Milliana, Steven Wayne Billy & wife Rosa of Finley, and their children, Titus, Gabrielle, Christian, & Tyler, and Mark W.O. Billy of Norman; numerous great-great nieces & nephews; as well as many other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, May 6, 2012 at Mills & Coffey Chapel with Reverend Lester Tims and Bertram Bobb officiating. Music was “At The Cross”, “Choctaw Hymn 112”, “My God Is Real”, & a Special by Mark Billy. Pallbearers included: Michael Gibson, Ed Choate, Warren Choate, Steven Billy, Garry Williams, Kenneth Williams, & Titus Billy with Honorary Pallbearers as Andy Choate, John D. Williams, Victor Eyachabbe, Jerry Don Johnson, Steve Billy, David Lott, Bennie Gibson, Glenn Johnson, Jerry Williams, Mark Billy, & Ted Williams. Interment followed at Finley Cemetery.
