Rev. David E. Boutwell

Rev. David E. Boutwell age 74, a longtime Crystal area resident. He was born on June 16, 1938 to Cole M. and Vera (Lucille) Boutwell in Baird, TX. Rev. Boutwell passed on from this life February 25, 2013 at his daughters home surrounded by his girls. He graduated high school in Lake Worth, TX. He also attended the University of Texas for two years in Arlington. Rev. Boutwell preached at the Prison Ministries in Fort Worth for several years and assisted with Benevolence ministries at the Alamo City fellowship. He was the current pastor at the Darwin Baptist Church for 11years. He loved the Lord very much, and was called according to his purpose. Rom. 8:28. He was a career Army pilot and a Vietnam vet. He earned several medals including the Purple Heart. Rev. Boutwell married Dorothy (Dignum) on August 22, 1958 in Fort Worth, TX. He enjoyed playing golf, feeding and clothing the poor, coaching sports and was an avid sports fan. He loved spending time with family and friends. He is survived by his wife Dorothy Boutwell of Crystal. Daughters; Deborah Herman and Husband Pete of Crystal, Donna Jagers of Lane. Grandchildren; Crystal Kemmerer of Edmond, Amanda Horner and Husband Chris of Victoria, TX, Hope Lambert of Edmond, Isaiah McDowell and Wife Chantel of Antlers. Great Grandchildren; Isaac, Myah, Davin, Penelope, Audrey, Colin, Rylan, and one on the way. Along with numerous nephews, other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cole M. and Vera (Lucille) Boutwell; Daughter, Darla Gaye; Grandsons, Michael McDowell and Christopher Herman; Great Granddaughter, Bella Herman. Funeral services were held at 2:00 PM Saturday, March 2, 2013 at Crystal Baptist Church Crystal. Officiating was Bro. Raymond Humphrey.
Funeral Services were conducted by: Brown’s Funeral Service in Atoka.
