Reverend Larry Keith Lewis

Reverend Larry Keith Lewis was born October 15, 1951 in Hayward, CA, to Alvis and Rachel (Wisener) Lewis. He passed from this life March 14, 2011 in Hugo at the age of 59. Larry Keith Lewis married Rita LaGene Knight August 11, 1970 in Empire, CA, and together they raised two children. Reverend Lewis pastored churches in Nevada, California and Oklahoma. He had been a minister since the age of 17. He was a tax preparer for H&R Block in Muskogee for many years, and was an auctioneer since 1990. Larry was recently retired and living in Rattan. Throughout his life he enjoyed many hobbies such as photography, leatherworking, hand wood carving, music and ministry. Reverend Larry was preceded in death by his parents: Alvis & Rachel Lewis; and his grandson: Dekota Lewis. He is survived by his wife: Rita of the home; and a granddaughter: Sarah Williams of the home; two children: David Lewis & wife Trisha of Muskogee and Cindy (Lewis) Croft & husband Lonnie of Rattan; two brothers: James Lewis & wife Margret and Dennis Lewis, all of Norman; five other grandchildren: Jazzmin Lewis of Apache, Joshua Croft of Rattan, Levi Hunter Lewis, Bobbie Jo and Luke Lewis all of Muskogee; numerous nieces and nephews; his favorite pets: Lady Bug and Bubba of the home; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 18, 2011 at the First Assembly of God with Reverend Larry Stephenson & Wife Susan, Reverend Robert Weeks and Chaplain Roger Barnes officiating. Musical selections included: “Everybody Will Be Happy Over There,” “Daddy’s Hands” and Goodbye World, Goodbye.” Pallbearers included: Larry Nelson, Leon Gee, Wade Gee, Danny Gee, Paul Brown and Fred Manous. Interment followed at the Rattan Cemetery. Family and friends may send online condolences at www.millscoffey.com.
