Ruby Viola Thurston was born November 2, 1914 in Checota, TX. to James Benjamin Franklin and Linnie Ann (Acres) Earnest. She passed from this life May 28, 2011 in Idabel at the age of 96. Ruby married Claud H. Thurston February 13, 1935 in Antlers. She was a lifelong member of the community. Ruby was of the Baptist faith and ejoyed spending time with her family and friends. Ruby was preceded in death by her husband: Claud H. Thurston; parents: James & Linnie Earnest; a son: Jimmy Roy “Bo” Thurston; daughter: Jewel Dean Standridge; daughter-in-law: Laverne Thurston; and a son-in-law: Howard Standridge. She is survived by one son: Claud William Thurston of Idabel; nine grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; as well as many other relatives and friends. Graveside services were held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at the Antlers City Cemetery with Reverend Andy Reed officiating.
