On Saturday, June 23, members of the Pushmataha County Sportsman Club held a bass tournament on Sardis Lake. Twenty-two members competed in the tournament. The weather was clear and hot, with temperatures in the mid-nineties and light winds. Fourteen members were able to catch at least one keeper bass, with three bass over five pounds weighed in.
Judd Thomas had a six fish limit to win first place for the heaviest stringer. Juddâ€™s stringer weight was 14.71 pounds. Bob Smith finished in second place with a stringer weight of 13.53 pounds. Bob also had the biggest bass of the tournament with a lunker that weighed 10.29 pounds. Congratulations Bob! The third place stringer was caught by Josh Cole. His stringer weighed 11.22 pounds.
The clubâ€™s next bass tournament will be on July 14 at McGee Creek Lake. Fishing times will be decided at the clubâ€™s next monthly meeting. The club will meet on Thursday, July 12, at 7:30 p.m. in the Wildlife Heritage Center and Museum.View more articles in:
