Statewide election activity begins officially at 8 a.m. Wednesday, April 11, when the filing period opens,â€ť said Jack Matthews, Secretary of the Pushmataha County Election Board.
Candidates for state offices will need to file with the Secretary of the State Election Board. Candidates for county offices will need to file with the Secretary of the County Election Board. Candidate filing forms and information for both state and county office-seekers, the forms are available on-line at www.elections.ok.gov. Click the â€śElectionsâ€ť tab at the top of the home page, then select â€śCandidate filing.â€ť
The filing period will close at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, April 13, 2012.
Matthews said that the following county offices will be filled this year: County Sheriff, Court Clerk, County Clerk and District 2 County Commissioner.
