Superintendents Corner

February 10, 2012

By Cary Ammons, Antlers Public School Superintendent

There are many thing happening at Antlers Public Schools. As we approach the midway point of second semester, many parents will be or have received progress reports for their child. Please take the time to go over these reports with your child and discuss any details with them.

We encourage our parents to talk with your child about their grades, attendance, school functions and whatever they want to discuss.

Basketball’s regular season will come to an end next week. Both boys and girls programs have seen exciting moments this year and we all hope for more as we head into the playoffs. We have been chosen to host districts this year against Valliant. This will take place, Saturday, February 18, 2012, with the first starting at 6:30 p.m. and the boys playing afterward.

Antlers will play host to our Power lifting Meet next week, Thursday and Friday, in the Fair Building. If you get a chance stop by and support our student athletes.

In closing, Antlers Public Schools wants to take this opportunity to thank everyone who submitted a survey for our calendar committee. The calendar committee, along with administration, has chosen not to go forward with more details concerning a Four Day Schedule for next school year. We have moved in a calendar for next year that resembles this school year wit some minor changes that coincide with the culture of our community and school system.

On a quick note, school will be dismissed February 20, 2012, for President’s Day. Please mark your calendar as school will be closed but will resume on Tuesday, Fe. 21. Parents, community and citizens of Antlers, we thank you for your support of the Antlers Public School System!!!
