Syble Lorene Nelson

Syble Lorene Nelson was born February 6, 1921 in Kosoma to Homer and Nellie (Bohall) Payne. She passed from this life on May 26, 2012 in Antlers at the age of 91. Lorene married Francis Waymon Nelson on July 9, 1937 in Antlers, and they remained married for 55 years until his passing on July 11, 1992. Together, they raised three children. Lorene worked as a clerk at Stafford Drug Store, then later at Halley's. She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church where she served as a Sunday School teacher. Lorene enjoyed visiting at her church and she loved spending time with her family and friends. Lorene was preceded in death by her husband: Francis Waymon Nelson; parents: Homer & Nellie Payne; brother: Glen Payne; sister: Florene Bates; and a grandson: Talion Nelson. She is survived by her children: Carolyn Manous & husband Fred of Antlers, Terry Nelson & wife Arline of Antlers, and Larry Nelson & wife Diane of Antlers; grandchildren: Freda Manous, Carey Manous, Jason Manous, Greg Nelson, Todd Nelson, Teresa Nelson, Paul Nelson & Amy Gay; great-grandchildren: Tyler Manous, Jayden Manous, Braxton Manous, Kortney Nelson, Gary Nelson, Dylan Nelson, Darian Nelson, Griffin Nelson, Chloe Gay, Spencer Nelson, & Decklin Gay; brother: Bearl Payne of Antlers; as well as many other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 30, 2012 at the First Assembly of God Church in Antlers with Reverend Robert Weeks officiating. Music included: “If You Could See Where I Am”, “Go Rest High On That Mountain”, and “I Want To Stroll Over Heaven With You”. Pallbearers included: Greg Nelson, Carey Manous, Paul Nelson, Jason Manous, Todd Nelson, and Chris Gay. Honorary Pallbearers included: Freda Manous, Amy Gay and Teresa Nelson.
