Tea Party News: Candidates whittled down to two

The big topic last week were the local elections and the Supreme Court’s ruling on health care. Both topics which can make a big difference in our lives.

The local election whittled down the number of Sheriff candidates to two. Terry Duncan and John Arthur. These guys still need your support in the run-off election in August. Don’t neglect to vote. We’re not done yet.

A special thanks to the other candidates. It takes time, effort and money to mount a campaign. And there is no doubt that those men care about our county. If you get the chance let them know you appreciate their efforts.

On the other issue, I don’t really understand how the court could have ruled in favor of the health care proposition as a tax. I can understand how the measure wouldn’t hold water under the commerce provision in the Constitution. But a tax?

What I really don’t understand are people who are supposed to be representing us putting forth and voting for this legislation. As I understand it 60% of the American people are against it.

Proof positive again, find out how your representative votes and hold him accountable. Remember this person is speaking for you if he isn’t speaking for you, vote for the other guy.
