Tea Party... Still relevant?

January 28, 2013

By Butch Morris

The Tea Party meeting is this Friday night! We haven’t had one since October. I for one am looking forward to it.

The reason we have been off for the last nearly 3 months is because of the holidays in November and December. Not because of the presidential election. Even though that is a sad thing to a conservative and obviously to most Oklahomans. 70% of us voted for the other guy.

Which leads to the question, “Since Obama won why is the Tea Party still relevant?” Because someone has to be a watchdog. Someone has to rally the troops to send conservative messages to our congressmen to stay the course and fight the good fight. We can’t give up to the assaults on our constitution. Because we are Patriots!

We should have a good program this Friday evening. our keynote speaker is Dwayne Thompson. If you recall, Dwayne ran for Dan Boren’s congressional seat in the election. Dwayne is now a field rep for Markwayne Mullin, winner of that race. Dwayne is always an interesting speaker so I invite all to come and hear him.

The meeting is Friday evening. Dutch treat meal starts at 6 p.m. Meeting at 7 p.m. it all takes place at Molina’s Restaurant here in beautiful Antlers, Oklahoma. See you there.
