Tea Party takes summer break

On Friday, June 24, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. the Push For A Better America Political Tea Party held a meeting at Molina’s Mexican Restaurant in Antlers. The meeting started out with an opening prayer and was directly followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.

After welcomes were completed supporters began discussing Rural Development Declarations, what they feel lead to the condition of the state of our country, and then went on to discuss and inform attendees about the 22nd, 23rd and 24th Amendments of the Constitution, which are what determines Presidential terms and when they take office, the District of Columbia receiving the right to vote and Poll Taxes.

Members then went on to discuss the speeches that U.S. Senator Tom Coburn, M.D. from Oklahoma, Republican, made back in February. If you would like to read these press releases and statements visit http://coburn.senate.gov/public/index.cfm/?p=WelcomeMessage.

There will also be a cookout on the 4th of July sponsored by Push For A Better America that will take place at the fairgrounds in Antlers from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. There will be music and hamburgers and hotdogs for donations. Make sure to bring your lawn chairs!

Due to the demands on everyone’s time during the summer months, the groups next meeting will take place on Friday, September 23, 2011.
