In light of our upcoming celebrations for the 2011-2012 Homecoming: Basketball through the Ages, our athletic department would like to recognize Mrs. Mary Etta Bollier for her hard work, dedication, and encouragement to our school. Moyers’ very own sweetheart, Mary Etta, has established deep roots in this mountain community and continues to invest in a school system that raised her just years before. She was a basketball star in her day, playing on a team that won 30 out of 33 games her sophomore year.

Her advice to our ball players is, “To always do your best, and to focus on TEAMWORK.” Come and show your support for the Moyers basketball teams, Thursday, February 2 as they challenge the Bennington bears. Homecoming Court will begin promptly at 6pm in the gymnasium and will be followed by the ball games, beginning at 6:30pm. Come and show your Tiger Pride!

To celebrate a great basketball season, we will be having various activities through out the Homecoming week, Jan 30-Feb 2. The students will be participating in spirit days, where they will dress with daily themes, play games, design a spirit float, and participate in a black out pep rally.

All week, cheerleaders will be selling tattoos, feather hair extensions, homecoming mums, Tiger Pride gear, and black out glow gear for the pep rally, to show their homecoming spirit throughout the community. The class spirit floats will be paraded at the pep rally and displayed that evening at the game.

Along with the weekly celebrations and homecoming ball game, the Moyers Tigers will also face the Ft. Townson Tigers at home on Tuesday, Jan 31. Also, be sure to mark your calendars on February 6, for special recognition of our senior ball players and pie auction hosted by the Junior Class. Senior Night festivities will begin at 6pm, followed by Moyers’ last home game against Stringtown. Join us in our basketball celebrations. Congratulations Moyers, for a job well done!
