A personal injury collision occurred at about 11:00 a.m. on July 7, 2011 on state highway 3 approximately 9.5 miles east of Oleta in Pushmataha County.

What happened was that a 2010 Kenworth semi was westbound on the highway when he struck a guardrail and rolled .5 times ending up in the ditch. The semi was being driven by John R. Goterba Jr, a 45 year-old white male from Poland, Ohio.

Goterba was transported by Med-Flight to St. John’s Hospital in Tulsa with internal trunk injuries but is listed in good condition. Troopers reports state that the driver seemed in normal condition and feel that the cause of the collision was that the driver was apparently sleepy.

This collision was investigated by Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper Tommy Allen, #304 of the Pushmataha-Choctaw County Detachment.
