We all remember our first Relay for Life event, and if not you need to attend one. We found a community that welcomed all. We found a place where we could celebrate the lives of people who had survived cancer and remember those we had lost. At Relay we found friendship, healing and empowerment.
Relay for Life is how we fight back against cancer, both symbolically and literally. The steps we take represent the battle a cancer patient faces on the path to recovery, and the donations we collect to ensure that the American Cancer Society’s missions to eradicate cancer through research, education, advocacy, and service can continue.
The Pushmataha County Relay for Life Committee Members and Team Captains would like to extend a personal invitation to the ENTIRE Pushmataha County population to join us in this fight against cancer this Friday (May 6) at 7 p.m. at the Bearcat Football Field in Antlers. If you are a cancer survivor and have never attended our Relay, please attend, we would love for you to be with us.
All you have to do is attend the Relay is show up. Survivor registration will be at 5:30 p.m., the Survivor Lap will start at 6:00 p.m. and the Survivor Dinner will be at 6:30 p.m. Relay will get kicked-off at 7:00 p.m. and there will be lots of activities, entertainment and food for the entire night until 7:00 a.m. when we will go home and sleep. Why all night? Cancer never sleeps, neither will we!
Please support those working hard to raise money for research and the programs available, so that one day, hopefully in our lifetime, we may d hear the words, “We have Found a CURE!” This is our goal!
