Katherine Bernice Chiles was born January 16, 1927 in Miller to Lev and Ola (Harvey) Chiles. She passed from this life October 10, 2011 in Antlers at the age of 84. Bernice graduated from Moyers High School & continued her education at Southeastern Oklahoma State University. She then transferred to Oklahoma State University to receive her Master's Degree in Home Economics. After graduating from OSU, she worked at Texas A & M as a Home Extension Agent until her retirement. Bernice was a member of Temple Baptist Church, as well as organizations such as National Society of Daughters of the American Revolution & Colonial Dames. She also enjoyed sewing, gardening, fishing, reading, and spending time with her family & friends. Bernice was preceded in death by her parents: Lev & Ola Chiles; brother: Alton Chiles; sister: Lois Brady.She is survived by her nephew: Alton Chiles & wife Pat of Muskogee; niece: Betty Mustain & husband Burrell of Oklahoma City; several great nieces & nephews; great-great nieces & nephews; as well as many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 15, 2011 at the Mills & Coffey Chapel in Antlers with Alton Chiles, Jr. officiating. Musical selections will include:"How Great Thou Art" ~ Performed by Larry Mustain and “I Found My Lily In The Valley” ~ Performed by Pam Pruett. Pallbearers will include: Carl Bridges, Michael Brewer, Gary Chiles, Wayne Brewer, Dewayne Brewer and Donald Chiles. Honorary pallbearers are Ed Pruett, Burrell Mustain, Jr. and James Pounds.
