James Hershell Daniels was born October 21, 1922 in Dela to David Franklin and Dessie (Kee) Daniels. He passed from this life May 4, 2012 in Talihina at the age of 89. James served in the United States Navy during WWII as a Storekeeper Third Class. He later married Joyce Luvenia Underwood July 8, 1946 in Paris, TX. James was a member of Finley Baptist Church, the VFW, and he enjoyed fishing, gardening, woodworking and especially harassing the kids. James was preceded in death by his parents: David & Dessie Daniels; two brothers: Arthur Daniels, Cornelius Daniels. He is survived by his wife: Joyce Daniels of Antlers; two sons: James Daniels Jr. and wife Martha of Duncan, & David Victor Daniels and wife Rhonda of Plano, TX; three grandchildren: Stacey Golsberry, James Victor Daniels, Charles Edward Daniels; three great-grandchildren: Jeffrey Golsberry, Alexia Golsberry, Brooklyn Daniels; brothers-in-law: Victor Underwood of Antlers, James Alton Underwood of Duncan; sister-in-law: Glenna Lucille Cash of Duncan; First cousins: Dorothy Harris & Betty Kee; as well as many other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at Mills & Coffey Chapel with Pastor Charlie Mueller officiating. Music included: “Peace In The Valley”, “You’ll Never Walk Alone”, & “Take My Hand, Precious Lord”. Pallbearers included: James Victor Daniels, Charles Edward Daniels, Jeffrey Golsberry, Danny Cash, Darrel Cash and Johnny Cole. Honorary Pallbearers included: Clifford Richardson and Lowell Burgess.
