On Wednesday, June 27, 2012, an injury collision occurred at approximately 3:25 p.m. on HWY 271 about .5 miles south of Antlers in Pushmataha County.
A 2008 Mazda Tribute, being driven by Patsy R. Brittingham of Moyers, was traveling north on HWY 271 when the vehicle departed the roadway to the left, struck a small embankment, went airborne and landed on a county road.
Patsy Brittingham, a 69 year old female, was transported to St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa with head, trunk internal and external, arm and leg injuries. She was listed in serious condition.
Her passenger, Howard R. Brittingham, husband of the driver, a 78 year old male also of Moyers, was transported to Pushmataha County Hospital in Antlers with head, trunk internal and external and arm injuries. He was also listed in serious condition.
According to the officer’s report, the cause of the collision was that the driver was fatigued and tired.
This collision was investigated by Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper Eric Blades, #209 Pushmataha County Detachment.
